Nicole M. Panhuyzen-Goedkoop
Nicole M. Panhuyzen has obtained her degree in cardiology in Utrecht and has specialized in sports cardiology. Aside from the SMCP she also works for the Heart Centre Radboud University Nijmegen Medical Centre. She has held the outpatient clinic for athletes at the SMCP since the 1st of December 2005. This made her the first sports cardiologist that opened a practice for sports cardiology independent of hospitals. She also works as a consultant for several sports federations and the Dutch Olympic Committee (NOC*NSF).

Among others she is a member of:

• Committee Cardiologie & Sport of the Netherlands Cardiac Society NVVC;
• Section Sports Cardiology of the European Society of Cardiology ESC-EACPR (Secretary, committee education);
• College of club physicians and consultants in the professional soccer organization BVO (CCC)

She is a co-author of a great number of European Guidelines for Sports Cardiology, and the soon to be published ESC Curriculum Sports Cardiology. Furthermore she works as a joint editor-in-chief of Sport & Geneeskunde, a Dutch/Flemish Journal of sports medicine and sports science. This journal is published by ARKO Sports, and under supervision of the Netherlands Society of Sports Medicine (VSG) and the Flemish Society of Sports Medicine (VVS).
